Churches

Would your church consider pledging to give a percentage of it's giving income to Unlock annually for several years, or even for just one year? Regular, pledged giving, from churches, gives us reliable income which allows us to plan our work for the months and years ahead. Contact the National Office if you think this might be a possibility. We can send you further information about Unlock's work, or possibly arrange to come and do a presentation for your church.

  • Share resources and expertise
  • Collaborate on research projects
  • Identify areas of common ground
  • Work together as appropriate

Support Stories from Churches

Dagnall Street Baptist have supported us regularly from their Mission Giving 2014-2019 up to £300 each year.

Christ Church, Clacton held a coffee morning in 2019 and raised £150

St Luke's Bricket Wood have continued to support us to the tune of £800 in 2019, £1000+£1125 in 2021, and £1125 in 2022

Holy Trinity, Frogmore £180 in 2020, £180 in 2021, £180 in 2022

St Matthew's, High Brooms £750 in 2022

The Benefice of Aldermaston & Woolhampton churches raised £677.45 by setting up their own fundraising page (which can now be arranged via Give as You Live Donate) towards the 2021 virtual walk in memory of their walk leader which is a tremendous effort.

Crofton Park Baptist Church amazingly raised more money than their usual walk sponsorship by donating the profits from their morning bacon butty and afternoon cream tea sales, together with the contents of their collection bucket at the checkpoint in 2015.

St Mary's Church, Hadlow, Kent raised more money for Unlock through the 2013 to 2015 Unlock London Walks than any other church.

St Luke's, Bricket Wood, regularly top the table in walk donations and include Unlock in other regular church giving appeals. For at least the last 5 years they have sent £900-£1000 from the Mission Giving as well as a donation from their thanksgiving day.

Great Dunmow
brought one of the largest contingents to the 2006 Walk in London and raised £1054.50 in sponsorship.

St Lawrence, Heanor pledged 5% of its income for 2006 & 2007 to Unlock and again in 2015.

Can your church do better than this?
