Wanted! New Unlock National Council Members
We need a few new volunteer Council members to oversee and help shape our work as it develops. Council meets on three Saturdays a year, often in Rotherham, (including one 24 hour residential event, usually at Cliff College, Derbyshire). Travel expenses provided.
We need council members who: -
• Have a concern for, and an understanding of, the specific nature of Christian ministry and mission in urban areas in the UK
• Are willing to engage with open and creative approaches
• Are willing to reflect and learn as they work together
• Have some understanding of the way that small charities work
For more information about the Unlock National Council please contact The Unlock National Office.
Giving
The work we do is funded primarily through the generosity of our faithful and commited supporters. The more funds we have; the more work we can deliver in UK cities; the more we are able to Unlock, Reveal and Release.

This is some of the feedback we received after the event:-
I chatted to the people who came and got overwhelmingly positive feedback. The gist of it was that it had taken a story they were very familiar with and helped them see it with fresh eyes - that it had helped it move from something they knew with their heads, to something that touched their hearts, and that it had provoked some deep and helpful conversations, arising out of the themes of the parable and the way it connected with their own lives and experiences. They saidit had been a lot of fun as well, and that the lunch was good!
I was asked some really good questions by church members, such as, "How can we do more of this, for ourselves?" and "How could we draw in those on the edges of the church, who don't already know the stories in the Bible, for something a bit like this?" I look forward to exploring what the answers to those questions might look like, in the months to come!
Our Lent course has had a very strong Unlock influence and it's been such a great experience. We are a church full of very practical, down to earth people who tend to be quite private about what goes on inside them and not have huge amounts of confidence.Unlock hasenabled usto share our experiences of prayer and God in a much moreopenway. That, in turn has led to a new courage and willingness to pray for and with one another, which makes me a very humble, grateful, happy Vicar indeed.
We are looking to establish new Local Partnerships in new locations. Please contact us if you are interested.

Working with Theological Colleges
Unlock is in partnership with the Queen's Foundation, Birmingham , and is willing to explore the possibility of partnerships with other Theological Colleges and Ministry Training Programmes in the UK, particularly in regions where we already have local projects established. Students looking for interesting placements are welcome to contact us to explore possibilities.
The 41st Unlock London Walk took place on Saturday April 27th 2024.
We welcomed 455 walkers to North Kensington for the 41st Unlock London Walk in fine weather (if a little bit chilly). We're very gratefful to you all for comming along and supporting Unlock. Now we just need the donations and sponsorship to start rolling in.
Planning for the 2025 42nd Unlock London Walk on April 12th has already begun. Two weeks earlier next year!
The 2024 Unlock Walk visited West London! Specifically the London boroughs of Kensington and Chelsea and Hammersmith and Fulham. The area we explored in the 41st Unlock Walk was a bit further west of where we walked in 2001 and 2005 and south of where we visited in 2012. And going by these dates you'll see an Unlock Walk visit to west London was long overdue!
The 2020 and 2021 virtual Unlock London walks, are featured on our Stay at Home London Walks page >>
We are dependent on the income from the Unlock London walks for around 50% of our annual funding, and without that income Unlock will not be able to continue its valuable work; so we really need you to donate anyway, just as if the 2020 & 2021 walks were still happening. We hope that the online version of these walks will encourage you to do that.
Training can be arranged for local groups; see this leaflet and contact the Unlock Office for details.
